The prelude is serious and in G minor. The more lively fugue in B flat major is repeated with the main theme starting in the oboe in the first phase. This theme is inverted in the second phase and starting low in the piano. An amen-like pair of soft chords appears several times in the prelude and ends the fugue. Piano plays a role equal to the winds. The sound clip is computer-generated.
